		<description>While that is true of individual retail cards, it doesn&#039;t apply well to everyday usage of Mastercard or Visa accounts that many people use for everyday purchases.  Nor does it address the two used in debit cards, which almost all of us use these days...almost as cash.
The other thing of note to mention is that even a hotel key that you get and &quot;swipe&quot; or insert to enter a room has your personal information on it....and too many people either leave these in the room when they leave or worse, throw out.  All someone would need to gain the information on that card, which could be used to &quot;clone&quot; your identity, is a card reader that they can get virtually anywhere.  It is best to bring the card home and shred it like you would any document that contained personal information on it.
